How to Replace Your RV Door Screen in Under 10 Minutes
Share
If you can change a screen, you can install the Easy Peasy Access Screen. Here's how to do it step by step — no professional needed.
What You'll Need
We supply the zippered screen, and spline and spline tool if you've purchased that option. That's it.
Step 1: Remove the Screen Door
Remove the screen door from your camper and place it on a flat surface with the spline channel (inside of door) facing up.
Step 2: Remove the Existing Spline and Screen
Carefully remove the existing spline. Then fold the screen down to the middle of the door, cut the existing screen along the bottom of the top half of the door, and remove it.
Step 3: Position the Easy Peasy Access Screen
Center your Easy Peasy Access Screen on the opening, making sure the zipper pulls are at the top.
Step 4: Install the Spline
Keeping the screen taut, use the convex end of the spline tool to press the spline (either your existing spline or the one supplied) into the door channel. Start at the top where the twin zipper pulls meet — this keeps the screen centered. Be careful not to rip the screen, and take your time. No need to rush.
Step 5: Finish the Spline Around the Frame
Continue pressing the spline around the entire door frame. Then use the concave side of the spline tool to press the spline farther into the channel. Again, take care not to rip the screen.
Step 6: Trim and Reinstall
Cut off any excess spline and screen, then reinstall the door on your camper.
That's It!
Congratulations — enjoy your new window on the world. The Easy Peasy Access Screen gives you fresh air without the bugs, and a zippered opening for easy access.
